Hi Steve,

Walking into the beautiful, open Casa Serenity with its view of the infinity pool and the Pacific Ocean immediately made us feel like we'd arrived in paradise!  The house was spotless, well appointed, and obviously new, and we loved our personal balconies with ocean views.  But the key to the success of the week centered on the graciousness and attentiveness of Mariscio (sp?) and Elizabeth.  Mariscio met our every need and whim from morning iced lattes to milkshakes for the kids in the afternoon to frozen strawberry margaritas each evening.  Elizabeth seemingly effortlessly produced fabulous home cooked, fresh, and healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We never thought about groceries, cooking, or washing dishes all week!  Elizabeth went out of her way to accommodate the limited food tastes of the children, making more quesadillas than she ever imagined and cutting up endless fresh fruit.   Both Mariscio and Elizabeth spoke excellent English but were patient with our attempts to improve our Spanish.  We relaxed and caught up as a family with the pool providing endless entertainment for the children.

Kojakc accommodated our outings smoothly  with  drivers and vans showing up on time for trips to Palo Verde National Park, the beach, birding, and Diamante Eco Adventure Park, all proving most successful.  Massages on the balconies with cool breezes delighted all recipients!  As I mentioned, Oliver recommended Javier, our bird guide, and my husband and I saw over 80 different species in 6 hours of Guanacaste birding, including over 20 new birds for me.  He's clearly one of top birding guides in Costa Rica.

My daughter-in-law mentioned that she would have liked more information before and during the deep sea fishing trip as it took a long time before they reached the desired fishing spots with 2 of our family members getting seasick.   However, my son caught 2 sailfish and a small  tuna which Elizabeth cooked for us!  With young children, we didn't want to spend the entire day at the large and distant zipline center that Kojakc recommended.  Instead, Mariscio advised us to visit Diamante which suited us and the young children perfectly.  

Our year of planning resulted in one of the most memorable, relaxing, and fun family vacations we've experienced.
